(On the theory of “Fuck it, this might work”)

leupagus:

Does anybody out there remember a YA fantasy novel written in the early 90’s at the latest (b/c I read it when I was like 13 or so) with a boy/young man who had to go on a quest (because of reasons?) and the first part was a labyrinth, and it turned out there were entire towns and villages living in this labyrinth, made up of all the people who’d started the quest and given up b/c they didn’t think there was anything beyond the labyrinth?

But after a while the kid *does* get beyond, and then there’s… adventures, and he gets some amulet or something, only someone else tricks him, and he gets put in a cage (dude I don’t even know), and then something else happens and… I don’t remember how it ends.

SORRY DUDES it’s just that I’ve been trying to remember the name of this book for like 20 years and I was like, WAIT I COULD CROWDSOURCE THIS BUSINESS.

MISSMOLLYETC IS A GODDESS. It’s called The Maze in the Heart of the Castle, by Dorothy Gilman, and I just ordered it like a freak bitch because seriously, this has been bugging me for yeeeeeeeeeeeeears.
